Motorist Shoots Cyclist for His Own Good
Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:30 AM

Here is another reason to wear a helmet … in case someone shoots at you!!!

Yesterday a motorist shot at a cyclist in Asheville, North Carolina.  Reason for shooting?  The shooter was “upset” because the cyclists was biking on a busy road with his child.  (the kid was in a kiddie seat).   What a humanitarian.

His logic: “Someone is doing something that I think is dangerous, therefore I should try to kill them.” Wow.

Thankfully, the bullet got lodged in the guys helmet, and he was fine.  But I bet his kid was upset.  Can you imagine if someone shot your dad during a family bike ride?

The shooter is being charged with attempted murder, and he’ll probably end up behind bars.  What a waste.

If this guy ever gets out of jail, he should be forced to bicycle everywhere he goes. That might help reform him.  Maybe he could even enter the annual Penal Tour de France for convicts.

Mr. Tough Guy: Bikes While Wearing Suit
Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 12:59 AM

I’ve seen a guy in Hillsboro Village biking in a suit, and I’m trying to figure out how he does it.  He also stops into Fido and gets a coffee for the road. Then cup in one hand and handlebar in the other, he rolls down 21st. No sweat (literally, he never looks sweaty). Very impressive.

Salute the Suit

One day I’m hoping to catch him and ask him about his routine. But until then, I’ll just have to guess.  For instance, I guess he has a short commute, maybe a few miles max.  He probably works downhill from where he lives.

He likes taking risks.  Most people would have avoided the coffee. Afraid of being overly protective of your fresh brew and running into oncoming traffic? No. Not this guy.

The coffee makes me guess he is from Seattle or Portland. So does the bike. Because they drink a lot of coffee out there and ride bikes too. He is the first of his kind in Nashville. Refreshing.

And the suit?  I guess he has a job that needs suits.  I haven’t decided what that is, but he is either a salesman, or a lawyer, or maybe something medical.  Selfishly, I hope he has a profession that needs a courier.  That would be perfect for me.

I’ll say something like, “Hey man, I like your suit.”

And he’ll say, “Thanks. I just wish I didn’t have to do my deliveries in a suit.”

Then I’ll pass him a business card.  Smooth.  My phone will start ringing. Deliveries, deliveries, deliveries …

Nevermind.  That probably wont happen. But seriously, salute the suit when you see him.
