We had Gigi’s Cupcakes design some Green Fleet bicycle-cakes for us today. Then Dave and I gave them out to a few of our clients for the holidays. We did this for two reasons: 1) to thank our clients for a great year, 2) to find out if the urban legend was true … do cupcakes delivered via bicycle really taste better?
So we tested it out. Results? Duh! Just look at Jennifer’s face – so happy.
The boy scouts worked really hard to put this on my handlebars. We had one to choose the garland, one to wire it down, one to hold, and two troop moms to make the bow. By the end we were all excited. Awesome! I had the merriest bike in town. Off I rode.
The next day, my hands started itching. Then my arms starting itching. Then I had hives up and down. Hmmm… maybe it was my laundry detergent, or my soap, or my sheets. I changed them all. Nope.
Something I ate? I went over my diet for the past week. Nope.
I put on some lotion. Nope.
I lowered my head and looked at my handlebars … the wreath 
I’m still scratching. ‘Needles’ to say, the boy scouts’ wreath is in the dumpster. Oh well. Merry Christmas.
Trying to come up with the next hot toy ended up being a red hot disaster for a Korean toy maker this year. Their new line of toy hipsters hit the road totally unprepared and ended up sharing the fate of so many real life stylistas of the street.
When the action figures tried to conquer their rides for the first time, they were distraught to find out that they were unable to safely manage their brakeless bicycles. Two of the figures were immediately involved in head on collisions with Tonka Trucks. The third remaining cyclist of the townie cast was left heart broken and has sworn off bicycles all together. If they had been wearing helmets, their injuries would have only been minor. Unfortunately, they were not …
The action figures have received disciplinary notices from the Toy Industry Association for setting a bad example. At this time, no further statements about the accident are available.
Next time they hit the road, maybe they’ll remember that wearing a helmet is sexy.
